4.5 Use ICT safely, responsibly and ethically |
AITSL states that at the graduate level, teachers should "demonstrate an understanding of the relevant issues and the strategies available to support the safe, responsible and ethical use of ICT in learning and teaching". In my university topic 'ICT and Numeracy Across the Curriculum', as well as through my diverse experiences of teaching and learning through ICTs, and through my use of ICTs for developing a Professional Learning Network (PLN), I have developed practices and gained a broad understanding of the safe, responsible and ethical use of ICTs in the educational domain.
The following evidence demonstrates my key abilities in using ICT safely, responsibly and ethically.

Resource for graduate teachers in the safe, responsible and ethical use of ICT in schoolsThe following post, located on my professional blog, is a university assignment that is designed as a resource to aid graduate teachers in their endeavours to integrate ICTs in the classroom in safe, responsible and ethical ways. The assignment is specifically aligned to the AITSL standards, and covers four key areas of applying social and ethical security protocols and practices when using ICTS: recognising intellectual property, applying digital information security practices, applying personal security protocols, and identifying the impacts of ICT in society.

Professional Twitter AccountMy professional Twitter account is an example of how I have adopted safe, responsible and ethical uses of ICT in my own practice, and demonstrates the types of behaviours I model in my use of ICTs. This encompasses professional communication, confidentiality in sharing of information, and representing myself in an appropriate way in the online arena.
